My 95 Z71 Chevy with a 9” lift on 37s was a nightmare to drive. Oem re-manufactured gearbox’s were just not cutting it. Put one of these RedHead gearboxes in it and the steering slop is gone. It has brought back the enjoyment and drivability of a truck that has been in the family for almost 30 years. I am utterly amazed at how much knowledge these guys have and how well their products perform.

Just finished restoring a 1993 Blazer. The steering just wasn't right. I tried the parts store box but I couldn't get the steering response I was looking for. Red-Head Steering Gears was recommended and I am glad I chose their product. With their technical support helping me, I now have the steering response I was looking for. Great product and great people.

After doing the parts store box, which was looser than a 200k box, my research landed me at Red Head.   Sales before, during and after the sale went very smoothly.  I replaced the pump, hoses and gearbox. I enlarged the 96 pump outlet fitting very slightly for more assist, as the 96 truck seemed to have been designed with very little.  9/64 was the bit I used, IIRC. Now, the steering is no longer sloppy and the assist now feels like my earlier GMT400.
