1995 Cummins (verified owner) –
I bought my Redhead steering box for my 1995 ram 2500 4×4 cummins because it had all the typical Dodge slop. I was skeptical it would fix it but after putting thia unit in my truck has ZERO play in the wheel. No wander, no noise, turn the wheels any time. You don’t need any of those ridiculous hydraboost and stabilizer systems from PCS. or otherwise, if your front end is legitimately tight and in good shape and your steering column isn’t worn out, this gear box will solve absolutely all of your issues. The only other thing I would recommend is the gear box brace to keep the frame from cracking and wearing any gear box out prematurely. Completely worth the cost.
Douglas Thorson –
When I decided to replace the steering gear in my 2001 Dodge 2500, I did as much research as I could to decide what would best serve my needs and costs. After deciding on Redhead products, I emailed them after hours to ask a technical question about their product. I was quite surprised to get a response that evening with the info that I needed. Well done.
After purchasing a steering gear from them, I was very pleased with the quality of the product. My truck drove much better, the sloppy steering issue was taken care of. I definitely would recommend their services.
But my biggest compliment goes to their customer service. Simply outstanding. A few months after I installed the gear into my truck it developed a leak between the sector shaft seal and the housing, not the shaft itself. I don’t know how they could have foreseen this problem and I am sure is is an isolated incident.
I emailed the company explaining my problem and asking for help in correcting the problem. To my surprise they called me by phone that afternoon to discuss my concern. The very next day they shipped a replacement box to me. All shipping costs covered by warranty. The new box is in my truck with simply no issues and I am a very happy customer. Their customer service and products are top notch. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Job well done and thank you again.
