2872 (3 Turns): 1999-2007 Chevrolet or GMC Pickup Trucks, Suburban's, or Yukon's Steering Gear

These gear boxes fit well and provide tight steering…for awhile.  Between our 2 family trucks though, we’ve just had the 4th failure in 5 years, all leaking from the round end cap. At this price and just a 12 month warranty, it’s time to try something else.

My 03' 2500hd with 350k miles has an entirely new life. The new steering gear shipped promptly, and I received the deposit back shortly after returning. Great experience and well worth it!

Fixes that sloppy Silverado steering - my 2005 2500HD with 320K on it has tighter steering than my one owner 2500HD with 130K on it.  Worth every penny!

Just ordered my gearbox customer service was top notch, looking forward to being able to steer my classic dmax

My son purchased this new Redhead steering box for his 2006 Chevy 3500 and paid a local service shop to perform the installation and alignment. Within 4 days the truck wouldn’t hold an alignment so he took it back to the shop. They attempted to align it several more times without any success.  Their disposition was the steering box has failed. Been in communication with reps from Redhead only to be told that we have to pay to ship it back for “possible” warranty replacement. This truck is used daily for work so it CAN’T be out of service during the week. Redhead states that they will determine IF it’s going to be warrantied plus they will NOT cover the labor to install and align the new box.
For a company that seems to tout top of the line steering boxes this level of customer service is pathetic. My recommendation is to pull this steering box and send it back for a full refund. The original OEM box lasted since 2006  so I’m recommending OEM for anyone else considering Reshead.

I replaced my gearbox with an autozone reman gearbox it was really loose and wouldn’t turn the wheel back to center so I bought a redhead you get what you pay for for sure it’s tighter than factory and rides like a brand new truck I would highly recommend this company

Bought 2 reman gearbox's from local auto parts store and both were junk. Red Head gearbox is was spot on and is a great factory replacement on my 2003 Chevy Silverado Duramax LB7

Best gearbox that I put on my 2007 Classic LBZ after I put on 4 GM reman units all of which had different problems.

Fixed a couple of problems with my steering. Now I can make low speed or dead stop turns with one hand instead of fighting with the wheel.  My truck stopped wandering all over the road as well. Redhead also got my core refund out extremely fast.  This has been money well spent.
